Q. Why would I want to unlock my phone?
A. Unlocking your phone will give you the freedom to purchase or use a SIM card from another network in your own country. It will also give you the opportunity to change the SIM card to a local provider when abroad, allowing much cheaper calls. It may also increae the value of your phone if you wish to sell it.

Q. How will unlocking my phone increase it's value?
A. By unlocking your phone you make it more atractive to more potential buyers (who'd buy a phone locked to O2 when they have an orange sim card).  By unlocking it EVERY potential buyer can use your phone. You also eliminate the need for the buyer to unlock the phone, some networks or shops charge up to £40 to unlock a phone (remember, not everyone knows about our cost effective service!).

Q. How do I tell if my phone is locked?
A. Place a different SIM card in the phone, not the one that the phone was supplied with, and turn the phone on. If the phone does not allow you to view the menu, but displays an error message such as "Phone Restricted", "SIM Not Valid", "SIM not accepted" then it is most likely locked. If the phone does allow you into the menu then it is unlocked. If the phone displays any of the error messages "Security code", "PUK number", "PIN number", "Lock code", "SIM card registration failed" then the phone is actually unlocked.

Q. My phone is not made by Nokia, can you still unlock it?
A. Nokia phones are the only manufacturer of phones that can be reliably unlocked with codes. If you have a different make of phone, then specialist equipment is required to unlock the phone. Your local independent phone repair or service centre may be able to help.

Q. I've tried to unlock my phone before and failed, can you still unlock it?
A. Nokia phones only allow 5 attempts at unlocking by codes. Once this has been exceeded the phone will reject any codes, correct or not. Our codes will not help in this case, but your local independent phone repair or service centre may be able to help.

Q. How do you unlock my phone?
A. You provide us with certain easy to find details of your phone : the type, the IMEI number, the country and network that supplied the phone when new. We use these to calculate an unlock code which we display in your browser. Follow the instructions we provide to enter the unlock code into your phones keypad, and the phone will be immediately unlocked. Simple.

Q. Do I require any technical knowledge?
A. None at all. We provide full and easy to follow instructions for entering the unlock code that we provide to you. It is entered into the phone using the phone's keypad.

Q. Will unlocking my phone damage it?
A. No. All unlocking the phone does is remove the network lock and sim lock that are entered into the phones software when sold to you by a network.

Q. What information do I need to give you?
A. You need to provide the model of the phone, the 15 digit IMEI number of the phone, the country in which the phone was supplied when new, and the name of the network that supplied it.

Q. How do I find out my phones IMEI number?
A. Easy, just enter *#06# (star hash zero six hash) on your phone's key pad and the 15 digit number will be displayed on the screen. Alternatively you will find it on a label on the back of your phone, underneath the battery. The IMEI number is the International Mobile Equipment Identifier, a 15 digit number that uniquely identifies your phone. The unlock code will be generated from this and so it is very important that you provide us with the correct code. If we do not have the correct IMEI number, we cannot generate the correct unlock code.

Q. Do you guarantee my phone will be unlocked?
A. If your phone is one of the compatible Nokias that we list on our order page then yes, we guarantee we can unlock your phone. If we cannot unlock your phone, then we will provide you with a full refund.

Q. How long will it take to get the unlock code?
A. The code is given INSTANTLY, for all phones . Our unlock codes are calculated instantly. We calculate the codes whilst your on the phone so have a pen and paper ready!
